Margaret was born on December 31, 1935 in Shreveport, LA to Mary Helen (Venable Hadwin) Reed and Daniel Hadwin and left to be with her Lord and Savior on February 14, 2018.
Margaret grew up in Shreveport, LA and as an adult moved to Longview, TX working as a book-keeper for a few years. The family moved to Killeen, TX in 1968 where she worked primarily with the telephone company whose names changed many times during the years, but at her retirement she was Construction Manager for Sprint Telephone Company. She was active in several organizations over the years. Margaret was very active in the American Women\'s Business Association and local charity groups. One accomplishment of which she was extremely proud was helping with the creation of the Melba Jo Pioneer Park in Harker Heights, TX which took much physical labor from all involved. Like her husband, Mack, she loved her grandchildren and would have preferred to have them around her always. She also had many nieces and nephews that she treasured. Margaret had many friends and was known as a very giving, selfless and inspirational person. She was a cancer survivor and endured tough cancer treatments in the midst of dealing with her husband\'s Alzheimer\'s disease, but she never gave up her hope. She will likely be remembered most as a person who put everyone before herself.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband, Mack Stone; siblings, Mary Helen Bergstrom, Bonnie Watson and John R. Hadwin. Left to cherish her beautiful memories are her son, Edward Dale Stone Jacknitsky and wife, Rebecca Jacknitsky of Georgetown, TX; brother in-laws, Kenneth Stone of Hope, AR; James Ross Stone and wife, Judy Stone of McCaskill, AR; grandchildren, Christopher Jacknitsky of Oklahoma City, OK; Timbrel Moser of Killeen, TX and Jennifer Piper of Hewett, TX; siblings, Dan Hadwin and wife, Alice Hadwin of Jacksonville, Fl; Richard Hadwin and wife Sandra Hadwin of Shreveport, LA; Mrs. Dell Rupp of Birmingham Al and many nieces, nephews and great-great grandchildren.
