Margaret Frances Westbrook, 95, was born on March 17, 1929, to Arthur Samuel McGhee and Electia Hager McGhee in Shreveport, Louisiana, and peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, in Bossier City, Louisiana. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication to her family. She created a nurturing environment in Shreveport, Louisiana, Jacksonville, Florida, Gadsden, Alabama, Pensacola, Florida, Huntsville, Alabama, Chicago, Illinois, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her commitment to making each house a home resonated deeply with all who knew her.
Having grown up in Bossier and graduated from Bossier High School, Margaret cherished her roots. She was known for her unwavering faith as a lifelong Baptist, finding comfort and strength in her religious beliefs.
In her later years, Margaret returned to Bossier before settling in Oil City, Louisiana. The final chapter of her life was spent at the Brookdale of Bossier, where she undoubtedly continued to touch the hearts of those around her with her kindness and grace.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 70 years, Charles Westbrook “Jack”. She is survived by her children, son, Charlie Westbrook, and Gillian Barker; daughter, Kay Westbrook Winkler, and husband, Jim; son, Jack David Westbrook, and wife, Cheryl; grandchildren, Emily Winkler Downey, and Paul, Matthew Winkler, and Daniella, Scott Winkler, and Lauren, Jayci Westbrook Woodard, and Matt; great-grandchildren, Westbrook and Emma Winkler, Wyatt and George Winkler, James Downey, and Jack Woodard.
