Margie Mercer Snider

Graveside services for Margie Mercer Snider, 99, will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held on October 4, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport. Officiating the service will be Rev. Gerald Parsons and Pastor Dennis Aaron.

Margie was born on October 22, 1923 in Port Gibson, Mississippi to Felix and Ethel Mercer and passed away just shy of her 100^th birthday on October 1, 2023.

Margie attended high school at Port Gibson High School in Mississippi and married the love of her life, Paul L. Snider, on June 5, 1948. They raised three wonderful children during their marriage. Margie was blessed to come from a family of five sisters and one brother. She spent her career working in a hosiery mill. She was also blessed with a beautiful singing voice.

Margie is preceded in death by her husband, Paul L. Snider, who passed away in 2008; and son, Larry Snider, in 1997. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sharon S. Parsons; and son, David Michael Snider; grandchildren, Joel Parsons, Lindsay Clark, Jeff Snider, Jenny Snider, Jeremy Snider, David Paul Snider, Courtney Keene, and Donnie Ritchey.

Honoring Margie as pallbearers will be Joel Parsons, David Paul Snider, Jeff Snider, Jeremy Snider, Chad Arnette, and Jerry Parsons.

Margie will be terribly missed by her family, but we were so blessed to have had her in our lives for so many years.
