Maria Kolovos Kirkikis SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Maria Kolovos Kirkikis will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at St. George\'s Greek Orthodox Church. Father John Krokos will be officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, November 27 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street. She was born on October 7, 1933 in New Orleans, Louisiana and passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 in Shreveport. She graduated from McDonogh 35 High School in New Orleans. She received a B.A. in Biology from Newcomb College and worked as a Medical Technologist. Maria was an active member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, the Daughter\'s of Penelope and the Philoptochos, all of which she served diligently and energetically. She was also a member of the women\'s medical auxiliary, and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Maria enjoyed gardening, baking, reading, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Maria loved playing scrabble, working crossword puzzles and playing the piano. She was very giving of her time, and always eager to share her baked goods. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Steve G. Kirkikis; and her parents, William and Sophia Kolovos. Survivors include her four children, Melissa Thompson and husband, Tommy of Spring, TX, William Kirkikis and wife, Christi of New Orleans, LA, Lt. Col. Gus Kirkikis USAF Ret. of RAF Mildenhall, England, and Sophia Ace of Erie, PA; daughter-in-law, Teresa Kirkikis of Shreveport, LA; sister-in-law, Thalia Plomarity and husband, Harry of Corpus Christi, TX, and sister-in-law, Virginia Kirkikis of Minden, LA; brother-in-law, Leon Demopulos of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Mark, Will, Walker, Conner, Cobe, Helen Alexandra, Nick, Benjamin, Nicholas, Maria, and Stephanie; and numerous other relatives. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Kirkikis, Will Kirkikis, Walker Kirkikis, Conner Kirkikis, Cobe Kirkikis, Nicholas Ace, Nick Kirkikis and Benjamin Kirkikis. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to St. George\'s Greek Orthodox Church, 1719 Creswell Avenue, Shreveport, LA 71101.
