Marian Elizabeth Murphrey

Funeral services celebrating the life of Marian Elizabeth Murphrey, 91, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 14320 Hwy 84, Logansport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. Kevin Smith and assisted by Rev. Richard Tull. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.

Marian was born on September 14, 1932, to Rev. Ben and Jewell Joyner in Stanley, Louisiana and entered into rest on Friday, December 8, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Guy Murphrey; parents, Rev. Ben and Jewell Joyner; sister, Bennie Mac Eaves; brother, Rev. Larry Joyner, brothers-in-law, Hubert Eaves, and Don Smith and sisters-in-law, Gail Joyner and Syble Smith.

Left to cherish her memory include her sons, Mark Murphrey and wife Cindy of Stanley, LA, Guy Ben Murphrey and wife Jeany of Tomball, TX, and Tim Murphrey and wife Melisa of Marshall, TX; brother, Phillip Joyner of Stanley, LA; grandchildren, Jeremy Murphrey of Huffman, TX, Jonathan Murphrey of Stanley, LA, Joshua Murphrey of Los Angeles, CA, Bethany delRosario of St. Paul, MN, Katherine Manns of Temple, TX, and Emily Murphrey of Tyler, TX; great-grandchildren, LucyCate Murphrey, Harper Murphrey, and Isabella delRosario; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Honoring Marian as pallbearers will be her sons, grandsons, and nephews.
