Mary left home at 17 to go to business school and began her career with Arkansas Fuel Oil Company. She met the love of her life and transitioned from a successful business career to homemaker, travelling around the country for Bud to "play ball". They eventually moved to Shreveport to raise three children. Once the kids were back in school, Mary returned to work as an Executive Secretary for several CPA firms, retiring after decades of service from Post, Ford, and Gustavson. Mary and Bud were heavily involved in the lives of their grandchildren as well as in their church community. Mary loved going outside to "be with her flowers" and had the greenest of thumbs. She was thrilled to meet her great grandson, Reid, and spend some time with him in her garden. Reid adored his Mam-ma, and they had a very special bond, as he has already learned how to properly water her flowers. Her absence will be felt by the many who were privileged to know her throughout her life. Her essence will live on through her flowers and in the many shared memories of this strong-minded, tender-hearted Christian lady, who loved her family fiercely and friends loyally.
