A memorial service celebrating the life of Marie Tuminello Edmiston, 94, will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Marshall Street. Officiating will be Reverend Charles Glorioso. Marie Tuminello Edmiston was born on January 16, 1922 and went peacefully to heaven on June 16, 2016 following a brief illness. Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Edmiston, her parents, Joe and Rose B. Tuminello, her siblings, John Joseph Tuminello and wife Stena, Chetta Tuminello Edmiston, Romana "Ruby" Tuminello, and Antoinette Tuminello Price. Left to cherish many loving memories are her children, Dr. Ronald J. Edmiston and his wife Tina; Linda Edmiston and Debbie Strickland, granddaughters, Rachael Edmiston and Kristen Edmiston; brother-in-law, Glenn Price; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Marie was known by her family and friends for her authentic Italian cooking and witty personality. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking her famous spaghetti and meatballs, playing solitaire, and bird watching. She was known as a second mother by many of her children's friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Colonial Oaks Senior Care Center for their kindness and excellent care; Dr. Johnny Black and his staff at Fern Avenue Dentistry; Marie's caregiver and companion, Sylvia Johnson; Candi Black and Jill Tingstrom for their friendship and support; Matthew Moseley and Morgan Tarrance for loving her unconditionally; Dr. Marion Cash and Deanna Kamphuis, NP, for their many years of medical care; Kyle Moore and Vickie Rech for their guidance, and her neighbors on Bentway Circle for treating her like family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, 4441 N I-10 Service Road W #100, Metairie, LA 70006 or the National Parkinson Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
