Marie J. Gladden

MONROE, LA - Services for Marie Jenkins Gladden, 82, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. Entombment will follow at Forest Park West Mausoleum in Shreveport, LA. Visitation will be Saturday prior to the service, beginning at 10:30 a.m.   Marie was born February 28, 1932 in Shreveport, LA to Trenton Obell and Valeria Sykes Jenkins and died July 20, 2014 in Monroe, LA. She was a member of Mangum Memorial United Methodist Church and retired from the City of Shreveport as a secretary. She is preceded in death by her husband, Felix Gladden Jr.; her parents; sister, Margie Futch and brother, Ray Jenkins. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Sampognaro and husband, Charles of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Sarah and Anna George; step grandsons, John Charles and Gabriel Sampognaro; sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Fluber of Shreveport, LA, Patsy Berry of Bossier City, LA, Betty Carroll of Durango, CO; brother-in-law, Jack Gladden of Shreveport, LA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Honoring Marie as pallbearers will be Charles Sampognaro, John Charles Sampognaro and Gabriel Sampognaro. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association.
