LISBON, LA: Funeral services will be held for Marilyn Lowrey Myers, age 81, at Lisbon United Methodist Church in Lisbon, LA, on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Fowler, officiating. Interment will follow at Lisbon UMC Cemetery in Lisbon, LA. The family will receive friends at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Homer, LA, on Friday from 5-8 p.m.
Marilyn was born February 3, 1939, in Minden, LA, to F. M. and Modena Adkins Lowrey. She entered into rest on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, in Bossier City, LA. Marilyn enjoyed reading, crocheting, quilting, and gardening throughout her life. She obtained her Master's Degree plus thirty and was passionate about teaching. Marilyn taught first grade and third grade thru her teaching career, and if you are reading this, it is probably because she taught you how to read in school.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Jerald Myers.
She is survived by her three daughters, Joan Lowrey and granddogs of Blanchard, LA, Dena Davis and husband Stan of Charleston, SC, and Blair Myers of Natchitoches, LA; sister and brother, Rebecca Earp and husband Wayne and John Lowrey and wife Kris; three grandchildren, Hannah, Riley and Marion Davis; nephew, Baxter Earp and wife Andrea; and granddogs; other loving friends and family.
Pallbearers will be Brian Pepper, Baxter Earp, Riley Davis, Wayne Tanner, Larkin Lowrey, Sam Dowies, Ty Pendergrass, and Cody Mayo.
Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Shurling, Vince Ory, Danny Suggs, Ken Bailey, Tommy Davis, John Synco, Andy Roberts, and Jerry Clements.
In lieu of flowers honoring Marilyn, her family suggests memorials be made to Claiborne Parish Library or American Lung Association.
