TYLER, TX - Services for Marjorie H. Keeling, 90, Will be at 12:00 Noon Friday, March 11, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, Shreveport, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Austin B. Tucker. Interment will be at Forest Park West Cemetery, Shreveport, LA a later date. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until services begin at the funeral home.
Marjorie was born on September 27, 1925 in Bossier City, LA to Erick R. Heiser and Mary Emma Sorrells Heiser, and passed away on March 5, 2016, in Tyler, TX. She was the youngest of four daughters. Marjorie graduated from business school and went into the banking industry, which later on led into the real-estate business. She later on became one of the first women Real-estate broker in Shreveport/Bossier area. She owned and operated her own real-estate company, McGinnis Real-estate.
She was preceded by her husband, David B. Keeling; parents; two sisters; two sons, Robert Vergil Smart, William Jay Smart. Left to cherish Marjorie's memory is her daughter, Suzan S. Thorne and husband, Tony; grandchildren, Skip and Michelle Robinson, Dana and Bobby Dudley, Kristi White and David Kinsler, and Heather and Matt Norris; several great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sister, Carrie Mae "Cherry" Conover; brother-in-law, E.E. Bland, Jr.
Honoring Marjorie as pallbearers will be Baylen Dudley, Bobby Dudley, Skip Robinson, David Kinsler, Matt Norris, and Cole Moon.
She was a great grandmother that always made sure that Christmas was the greatest she could provide, and the children got what they wanted. She decorated to the hilt! She is loved and will be missed.
