Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Marjorie M. Whitley, 82, will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, September 12, 2014, in the sanctuary of Rose-Neath Southside with Brother Jim officiating. Interment will immediately follow on the grounds of Forest Park West, Shreveport, LA, under the direction of Rose-Neath South Chapel. The family would like to welcome guests for visitation Thursday, September 11, 2014, from the hours of 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Rose-Neath South Chapel.
Mrs. Margie was born June 27, 1932, in Shreveport, LA, to the late Thomas Fred and Exie Norma Shepard Brooks and was called home September 7, 2014, in Shreveport, LA. She was a member of Church of Christ in Stonewall, LA. Mrs. Margie always enjoyed writing poems. She would not only raise her children but loved taking care of surrounding children as well. Mrs. Margie was a loving mother that loved and cherished her family. She will remain in the hearts of many as her memory will be cherished forever.
Mrs. Whitley was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband; Andrew Battle Whitley, one son; William Walter Whitley and five siblings.
Left to cherish the wonderful memories Mrs. Marjorie will be her loving children; Claude Bunyon Whitley and wife Kathy, Cindy Loupe and husband Skip, Eddie Whitley and wife Anita, Dona Zastrow and husband Donnie, Kathy Woodall and husband Ronnie, one brother; James D. Brooks, along with numerous extended family members and many wonderful friends.
Honoring Mrs. Whitley as pallbearers will be Chris Loupe, Danny Dean, Ronnie Woodall, Tommy Woodall, Eddie Whitley, Jr. and Jeremy Whitley.
In honor of Mrs. Marjorie Whitley memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
The family would like to express a token of thanks to the staff at Nurse Care, Nursing and Rehab Center, the Amedisys Hospice Group, Mrs. Rachal and Mrs. Brenda for the special care and compassion provided to Mrs. Marjorie during her time of need.
