AUSTIN, TX - Funeral services for Mark Edward Hayes will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Billy Crosby and Dr. Murry Hodge. Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mark was born in Shreveport, LA September 9, 1969 and lived in Austin, TX for the past 25 years. He died suddenly on June 3, 2016 in a flash flood. He had a close relationship with God and had strong belief in His word. He was owner/operator of Austin Fitness Repair. Mark's constant companion and friend Trooper was with him to the end. He loved his friends and family above all else and was always there for them with his crazy sense of humor, or emotional support when they needed him. He was an avid dirt bike rider, loved playing drums and loved the band, Rush, all of his life as well as being a devoted Pittsburg Steelers fan. Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Teri Hayes, paternal grandparents, Mr. R.C. Hayes, Sr. and Mrs. Nellie Hayes and his maternal grandparents, Mr. Carl and Mrs. Myrtle Smith. Those left to cherish his memory are his loyal 4-legged companion Trooper; mother, Sandy Rainer and husband, Tom; father, Robert Hayes, Jr. and wife, Sandy; siblings, Wayne Horne and Sue Ellen, Missy Burgess and husband, Ronnie, Dale Hayes and wife, Sandra and Leslie Hayes Nolte; step-brother, Dr. Mike Rainer and wife, Jennifer; step-sister, Sheri Voelkel and husband, Doyle; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
