Marshall Owen
Marshall Owen was born on January 12, 1949 and went peacefully to heaven on June 22, 2016 after a courageous and long fought battle with lung disease. In Shreveport, Marshall met the love of his life, Sally Burford Owen, whom he affectionately referred to as \"My Little Pea.\" They celebrated thirteen years of love and marriage this past May.
He was best known for his witty humor and big personality. Marshall loved to laugh. He was a man of the best of extremes, often the center of attention with his quick wit and comic timing, but just as often quietly making a stranger feel welcome. Marshall loved his family. He counted a wife he adored, his sons he watched become fine men and two wonderful grandsons as the greatest blessings in his life.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Dorothy Owen; his brothers, Jim and Bill Owen. Left to cherish many loving memories are his wife, Sally Burford Owen; sons Ryan Owen (Emiiee), Austin Owen (Clark Kinkade); his beloved grandsons, Ethan and Alex Owen; brother Jerry Owen (Nancy); and extended family, and friends.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Marshall Lynn Owen, 67, will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Frost Chapel First Baptist Church of Shreveport. Officiating will be Dr. Greg Hunt. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Rose-Neath Marshall Street Funeral Home, Shreveport, LA.
