A memorial service celebrating the life of Martha Blanche Alexander will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church West Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Bro. Bill Crider officiating. Inurnment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana.
Martha was born on September 15, 1929, in Bernice, Louisiana and went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2025, in Arcadia, Louisiana.
Martha was an active member of the First Baptist Church Minden where she was worked many years with Bible School, Samaritan Purse Shoeboxes, and also helped getting the Ichter Missionary Home ready. She retired in 1998 from Minden Bank and Trust after 40 years of service, where she received numerous awards. Following retirement, she worked at Minden Medical Center and as a bookkeeper for various companies. Her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Todd Alexander; father, Jesse Hollis; mother, Blanche Gresham Hollis Butterfield and stepfather, C.M. Butterfield; brother, J. J. “Buck” Hollis; sisters, Mary Francis Hollis Carpenter and Helen Hollis Hall.
She is survived by her son, Bill Alexander (Mary Lynn) of Youngsville; daughter-in-law, Janice Alexander of Minden; grandchildren, Jennifer Alexander Fontenot (Patrick) of Youngsville, Jared Alexander of Youngsville, Matt Alexander of Minden, Brittany Alexander Parsons (Sean) of Gypsum, CO, Shane Patterson of Minden, and Tiffani Patterson of Minden; great-granddaughters, Lauren and Lillian Fontenot of Youngsville, and other nieces and nephews.
