SHREVEPORT, LA: A graveside service was held for Mrs. Martha Imogene Crump, 99, at Atkins Cemetery in Athens, LA, on Monday, February 26, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.Mrs. Crump was born March 9, 1918, in Altus, AR, to Jessie McConnell Brown and Martha Isabel Holiday Brown and was the fourth of eight children. She entered into rest at Claiborne Rehab suddenly on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, in Homer, LA. Mrs. Crump was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. During the 1960's she and her husband were professional Putt-Putt golfers and enjoyed the professional tour. Mrs. Crump was the first woman to win a national tournament. In her working life she was the first manager of a Russel Stover Candy shop in Shreveport and went on to work for the City of Shreveport's Parks and Recreation Department where she was a secretary then director of the Arts and Crafts Center for retirees at the Moore Center in Shreveport. After retirement she enjoyed going to the horse races in Bossier City with her husband and brother Bobby.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Edward Lamar Crump, Sr.; her granddaughter, Tracey Kathleen Crump; and six siblings, Dora Mae Lipscomb, Clyde M. Brown, L. Finis Brown, R. Lewis Brown, Robert D. Brown, Sr., and Jimmy R. Brown.She is survived by her son, Edward L. Crump, Jr. and wife Nancy C., of Alexandria, LA; daughter, Martha A. Andrews and husband Phillip B., of Homer, LA; one brother, Glynn M. Brown and wife Lorraine of Franklin, TN; three grandchildren, Karen A. Nelson and husband Nick of Homer, AK, Amy E. Jones and husband Junior of Baton Rouge, LA, and Ashley C. Crump of Alexandria, LA; nine great-grandchildren, Julie Pourciau and husband Clint, Jonathon Seneff, Ian Pecquet, Lindsey Seneff, Jacques Pecquet, Rebecca Seneff, Isabelle Pecquet, Rachel Seneff and Lance Seneff; a special friend, Dee Ann Collins-Durham; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Pallbearers were Sidney Crump, Jacques Pecquet, Ian Pecquet, Clint Pourciau, Junior Jones, and Phillip Andrews.In lieu of flowers honoring Mrs. Crump, her family suggest making donations to Atkins Cemetery Association, C/O Janice Gleason, 2117 Hollow Wood Way, Haughton, LA 71037, or the charity of the donor's choice.
