Marvin V. Ford
Funeral services for Marvin V. Ford will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Bill Crider, Rev. Brian Mercer and Rev. Larry Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 14, 2015 from 12:30 p.m. until service.
Marvin was born August 15, 1928 in Evergreen, Louisiana and finished his earthly journey on February 12, 2015 in Minden, Louisiana. He served his country in the United States Army in Korea. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Builders Sunday School Class. He was a man of many talents, master carpenter and clock repair technician, retired construction superintendent and owner of Ford's Clock Shop. Marvin was a quiet man who didn't want attention drawn to himself. He always put others first, especially taking care of his family. He was a man of integrity and high morals. He was a regular attendee of the Council on Aging where he made many friends.
His parents Macon and Rosamond Kirkley Ford preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Mattie Ryan Ford of Minden, sons Jay S. Ford and wife Deborah of Ft. Worth, Texas, Rusty Holtzclaw and wife Ronni of Minden, Mickey Holtzclaw of Minden, extended family, Jody and Lynn Herren of Minden, sisters Jean Frye of Minden, Sharon Hollis of Beaumont, Texas, grandchildren; Angela Lilly and husband Greg, Slade Holtzclaw, several great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
The family extends a special thanks to Rev. Bill Ichter, Becky Alvarez, APRN at the VA Hospital, Minden Medical Center, Town and Country Health and Rehab, Drs. Max Stell, Michael Chanler and Gamble Hospice.
