SHREVEPORT, LA - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Alice Hermes, 89, will be held at 9:45 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2016 at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. Monsignor Carson LaCaze will officiate. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Mary Alice was born June 9, 1927 in Marshall, TX to Herschel Stockton Mead and Willie Lorene Nichols Mead, and passed away suddenly on August 25, 2016. She worked for AT&T for numerous years, before that she was a devoted housewife and the mother of two daughters. Mary Alice had a deep faith in God and a faithful member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Waskom, TX.
Mary Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Herschel and Willie Mead, her loving husband of 60 years, Harold Hermes, grandson Charles Ray Procell, her sister Anna Mead, and her brother Bennie Mead. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Alicia Procell and Teresa Procell and her husband, Gregory; grandchildren, Gregory Bryan Procell and his wife, Renee` and Angela Danielle Procell Byrd and her husband, Tommy; great-grandson, Ty Byrd; sister, Jean Tarver, along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, who will miss her dearly.
Honoring Mary Alice as pallbearers will be Greg Procell, Bryan Procell, Tommy Byrd, Elmer Hermes, Jeff Dove, and Jimmy Patterson.
