Mary Louise Balthazar

Shreveport, LA - A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Louise Balthazar, 67, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery near Melrose, LA. Officiating will be Father Thomas John and Father Francis Kamau. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. A prayer vigil will begin at 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. in association with the visitation. Interment will follow St. Augustine Cemetery Melrose, Louisiana. Mary was born August 24, 1947 in Shreveport, LA and went to be with her Lord March 19, 2015 at Grace Home. She graduated from Notre Dame High School and Louisiana Tech with an Associates Degree and pursued her career at Bell South Telephone Company. She was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, James Henry Roque; John Mearl LaCour, (father of Cheryl and Tammy). Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Theresa Llorens-Roque; husband, John Nelson Balthazar, Sr.; daughters, Cheryl LaCour-Reine (Alvin), Tammy LaCour-Gatlin (Anthony); sons, John Nelson Balthazar, Jr., James D'Angelo Balthazar (Beatrice); TA Schunda Davis (Tyron, Sr.); grandchildren, Alyssa Joy Gatlin, Austin Joseph Gatlin, Justin Anthony Gatlin, Alvin Jules Reine II, Adam Joseph Reine, Alex Jacob Reine, Brittni Nicole Rogers (Tyrone), Tyron Terel Davis, Jr., Jamesia D'Angela Balthazar, John Pierre Balthazar, James D'Angelo Balthazar, Jr., Quantrez D'Andre Balthazar, Anderson Balthazar, Octavia Balthazar, Chloe' NyCole Davis, and Braylon K. Black; siblings, James Roque (Margie), Clyde Roque (Josephine), Marvin Roque (Clair), and Patrick Roque (Angelica), a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Mary's family expresses their thanks to the Christus Schumpert Cancer Treatment Center and special thanks to the staff at Grace Home.
