Benson, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Francis Brasher, 92, will be held at 100 p.m., Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Chapel, Mansfield, LA. Officiating will be Dr. Roy Thumper Miller, pastor of First Baptist Church, Mansfield, LA, assisted by Bro. Jimmy Price, pastor of Noble Baptist Church. Interment will be in Benson Cemetery, Benson, LA.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Brasher passed away Saturday, February 23, 2019 at DeSoto Retirement and Rehabilitation Center in Mansfield, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Nacogdoches, TX and was a resident of the Benson community in DeSoto Parish. Mrs. Brasher was active in the DeSoto Parish Homemaker\'s Club and owned Brasher\'s Grocery and Brasher\'s Blueberry Farm with her husband George for many years. The family would like to extend our gratitude to all of the staff at DeSoto Retirement & Rehabilitation Center and to Superior Hospice.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, George & Cordie Faulkner, four brothers and two sisters, and her husband of 56 years, George W. Brasher.
She is survived by two sons, Morgan Brasher and wife Karen of Houma, LA; and Ted Brasher and wife Mary Alice of Catuna, LA; one daughter Cynthia Craig and husband Paul of Catuna, LA; four granddaughters, Tanya Miller (Duffy) of Gonzales, LA; Kelly John (Todd) of Houma, LA; Allison Brasher of Houma, LA; and Alicia Lopez (Alfonso) of Natchitoches, LA; seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and other family.
Pallbearers will be John Brossette, Joe Willett, Bob Willett, Roger Davis, Steve Brasher, Phillip Brasher, Dana Deas, and Jeff Heard. Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
