Mary Carmen Brown

Funeral services for Mary Carmen Brown will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, LA. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Reverend R. L. Bethley. Mary was born on September 13, 1936 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Charles Childress and Clarice Afton and passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Mary graduated Magna Cum Laude from Alderson Broadus University and spent her working years as a teacher and law librarian. She was active in the choir at St. Luke's United Methodist Church and served as the Choir Director at one time and enjoyed playing the piano. Mary loved her family and her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, William L. Brown and daughter, Amy Beth Brown. She is survived by her son, Cary Brown and grandchildren, Kara Brown, Hannah Crooks, Aaron McCommon and Alec McCommon.
