Mary Jane Cordaro

Mary Jane Adams Cordaro, beloved widow of John Joseph Cordaro, passed away Monday, April 9, 2018 after a long battle with a rare lung disease. She is survived by her three children, John Anthony Cordaro II, Denise Cordaro Faust, husband Kenneth, and Lisa Cordaro, as well as her grandchildren, Christopher Faust, Kirk Faust, and Madeline Nichols. She was preceded in death by her brother, Reginald Walter Adams, Jr. Born in Clarksville, Arkansas, and raised in Minden, Louisiana, Mary Jane spent most of her adult years living in New Orleans with her loving husband and children, before returning to Bossier City in 2006. After graduating with honors from Louisiana Tech University's School of Business Administration, Mary Jane worked for many years as an executive administrator and bank officer. She was also active in many civic organizations. She was a past president of the West Monroe Jaycee Jaynes and Aurora Garden Club. She belonged to Welcome Neighbors for many years and served on the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Parish Council. She served as co-chair on many committees alongside her husband, John Cordaro, raising money for many worthwhile organizations in the New Orleans area. The family wishes to thank our mother's wonderful caregivers who took care of her as if she was their own mother. Valerie Tisby Taylor and Tiffany Murray kept us going and became like daughters to our mother. Pamela Hendrix, Novella Brown, Rosalind Brown, and Angie Green Westra also provided us peace of mind over the past three years. We would also like to thank Hospice of Shreveport-Bossier, in particular Susan Hancock, RN, for the assistance provided to keep our mother comfortable. Funeral Services for Mary Jane Cordaro will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 4700 Palmetto Road, Benton, La. 71006 on Thursday, April 12, 2018. Visitation from 9:30 to 10:00 AM, followed by mass and then burial at Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Drive.
