Funeral services for Mary Jo Arrington, 90, will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, 425 McCormick St., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home and Park in Haughton, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr. Bossier City, LA. Officiating will be Father Fidel Mondragon. 

Mary Jo was born on October 6, 1933 to John Ladatto and Pauline Ladatto in Bossier City, Louisiana and passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones, on Friday, January 26, 2024 in Bossier City, Louisiana. 

Mary Jo was a resident of Bossier City and attended Bossier High School where she played the French horn for the nationally recognized Bossier High School marching band.  She became a huge sports enthusiast as a high school basketball team member. There wasn’t a day that Mary Jo wasn’t watching some sports event on TV. Her first job was at Coffee’s Five and Dime store on Old Minden Road in Bossier City. She then worked for 25 years at the National Bank of Bossier where she worked her way up to Vice President of the bank. Mary Jo, or Jodi as her husband called her, was married to Sam Arrington for 54 years before he passed away. Mary Jo’s children and grandchildren were her greatest joy and she cherished them deeply. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. 

She was preceded in death by her father, John Ladatto; mother, Pauline Ladatto; brother, Donnie Ladatto, Sr. and spouse, Samuel D. Arrington, Sr. She is survived by sons, Samuel David Arrington, Jr. and wife, Cathy and John Michael Arrington and wife, Carrie; daughter, Kathryn Arrington Young and husband, Dennis; grandchildren, S. David Arrington, III and wife, Debbie, Christopher Arrington, Jason Young and wife, Abby, Adam Young and wife, Mandi, Kayla Franks and husband, Aaron and Karsyn Calogero and husband, Mark; great-grandchildren, Sam Arrington, IV, Evie Arrington, Kennedy Young, Mack Young, Lowe Young and Baby Young and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. 

Honoring Mary Jo as pallbearers will be David Arrington, III, Christopher Arrington, Jason Young, Adam Young, Aaron Franks and Mark Calogero. 

The family would like to express special thanks to Christus Schumpert Hospice Care for all the compassion and care given to Mary Jo while under their care. 

The family suggests memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, 425 McCormick St., Bossier City, LA 71111 and Holy Angels, 10450 Ellerbe Rd., Shreveport, LA 71106.
