Mary Salter Kellogg passed away April 25, 2025, at the age of 82. Mary Ann, "Mimi", was a life-long resident of Ringgold, Louisiana, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Bobby Kellogg, Sr., at the Ringgold Fair in 1959. She was blessed as the matriarch of a large family and understood the value and meaning of hard work, sacrifice, and family unity.
Mimi was energized by each challenge and opportunity life provided, including: fulfilling the role as the oldest child to 6 siblings, marrying at the young age of 17, raising four boys, working full time for over 45 years, even working simultaneously at two full time jobs while in her 50's and 60's. “Mimi” loved outdoor activities, playing softball and volleyball, family cookouts, lake living and water skiing, gardening, and landscaping. But she truly thrived when helping her family, during both good times, and challenging times.
“Mimi” retired from the Bienville Parish School Board as a Paraprofessional and later retired from Willis-Knighton Health System as a Certified Nursing Assistant when she was 72 years old.
She is preceded in death by her husband; Bobby Kellogg Sr., mother; Mary Ella Salter, sister; Betty Carole Murchison, and brothers; Horace “Red” Salter, and John Salter. She is survived by sons, Bob Kellogg and wife Cindy, Chris Kellogg and Jamie, Cliff Kellogg, Clay Kellogg and wife Angela. She is also survived by grandchildren; Summer Thomas and husband Shelby, Christopher Kellogg, Dakoda Kellogg and wife Maddie, Justin Kellogg and wife Rebekah, and Nicole Kellogg, and 11 great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by brothers, Bill Salter and wife Susan, Steve Salter, Terry Salter and wife Bonnie, and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their grateful appreciation to the healthcare professionals and organizations that provided exceptional and compassionate care and rehabilitation; CHRISTUS Highland Medical Center (Doctor Kahanna and the second Floor Nursing Staff), Pathway Rehabilitation Hospital (Alison Smith), Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Shreveport, Elara Caring, Bristol Hospice (NW Louisiana), and CHRISTUS Hospice Shreveport-Bossier.
Honoring “Mimi” as pallbearers will be Christopher Kellogg, Dakoda Kellogg, Justin Kellogg, Gage Berry, Drake Bates, and Weston Salter.
