Arcadia - Funeral services will be held for Mary Kathryn King, 90, at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Bro. Randy Ray and Bro. Bob Jameson will officiate. Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Arcadia. Mary Kathryn was born January 19, 1926 in Athens, LA to R.B. and Carrie Smith Blackwell. She entered into rest on Tuesday, February 02, 2016 in Arcadia. Mary Kathryn worked as a sales clerk for West Department store and Wal-Mart in Minden. She was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Mary Kathryn loved to be in her garden, going to church and reading her bible. She held a special place in her heart for her granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her husband Nelson King, son Wayne Carter, daughter Lynette Sheets, grandson Tommy Sheets, Jr. and brother and sister-in-law Bobby and Gloria Blackwell. She is survived by her sons Doug Carter and wife Carolyn, Michael Carter and wife Deborah and Rickey Carter, daughters Betty Fricke and husband Buford and Karla Ruiz and husband Lynn, son in law Tommy Sheets, Sr., sisters Patsy Marks and husband Gaylon and Marilyn Seffel, by 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends. Pallbearers will be Dennis McCann, CJ McCann, Levi Hinze, Kevin Marks, Todd Jones and Justin Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Sheets, Lynn Ruiz and Buford Fricke.
