Graveside services for Mary Lou Tullos Luker, 84, will be held Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Mariah Cemetery near Arcadia, LA. Officiating will be Brother Buddy Hankins from Southside Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA.
Mary was born January 3, 1935 in Jonesboro, Louisiana and went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 26, 2019. She was employed by Kroehler Manufacturing, Lee Dry Goods and she retired from the Shreveport Rescue Mission in 1997. Mary was a member of Southside Baptist Church for the last 65 years where she served in the nursery for many years. Mary loved to rock babies and as her grandchildren can attest to, had the touch for getting them to nap.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. Tullos and Lela Mae Stewart, her husband of 62 years, William Fred Luker, Sr., twin sister, Bettie Sue Tullos Lanier, and sister, Velma Tullos Hollis.
Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, William (Billy) Luker of Shreveport, LA, Gerald (Wayne) Luker and wife Cindy, of Shreveport, LA, and Donald (Don) Luker and wife Brandy, of Madison, Mississippi. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Melissa Luker Jones and husband Michael, Annah Luker Burns and husband Chris, Mandy Best and husband Edward, Anthony Luker, Justin Luker, Brittany Luker Smith, Christopher Luker and wife Jordan, and Robert Woodard. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, her sister, Vera Tullos Bunn, and brother, Charles W Tullos and wife Shirley, of Frisco, TX.
