Mary Maxine Evans Lynch, 85, of DeSoto Parish, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Maxine was born on November 11, 1937, in Mansfield, Louisiana to Floyd Johnston Evans and Berta Thurman Evans.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2023, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive in Shreveport. Funeral services honoring the life of Maxine will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 6, 2023, at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Pastor Dean Register. Interment will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, 322 Church Road in Keatchie, Louisiana. Honoring Maxine as pallbearers will be Ronnie Lee, John Whitaker, Britlyn Garrett, Madelyn Garrett, Donnie Lee, and Don Brown.
Maxine graduated from Longstreet High School in May of 1955. She married her high school sweetheart C.R. (Steve) Lynch on June 29, 1955. They were married for 68 wonderful years. Maxine was employed with Willis-Knighton Health System for over 30 years. She retired as Hospital Administrator at Willis-Knighton South. Maxine loved going to her camp and spending time with her “granddaughters”, Britlyn and Madelyn Garrett. In her free time, she enjoyed raking leaves, planting, working in her yard, driving her tractor, feeding fish in the pond at the camp, taking trips to the casinos, and playing with her little dog, Lucy.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Berta Evans; her brothers, Robert Evans and Wayne Evans; her sister, Charlotte Evans Wash; and her son, Clifford Scott Lynch. Left to cherish her memory include her husband, Charles Ray (Steve) Lynch; her son, Steven Ray Lynch; her daughter, Shelley Lynch Jackson and husband Collin Lane Jackson; her brother, Curtis Evans and wife Beverly (LuLu); her special niece, Jerri Lynn Garrett; her Russian girl, Victoria Borovikova; her son Scott’s best friend, John Whitaker; numerous nieces and nephews, and to the many people that dedicated their support, love, and time.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Willis-Knighton South for all the wonderful care and love they provided to Maxine.
