Shreveport, LA- Funeral services for Mary Durbin Readhimer, 80, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Brother Ed Baswell. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Mary was born September 3, 1934 in Louisiana to Cecil and Pearl Durbin. She passed away in peace September 26, 2014 in Bossier City surrounded by her family. Mary retired after 25 years of employment at Brookshires. She was a homemaker.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 52 years, Charles Marion "Koonce" Readhimer, sisters, Estelle Coile, and Aubyn Gill, and brother, Denny Durbin. She is survived by her husband, Russell Readhimer; by sons, Bruce and wife Karen Readhimer, and Eddie Readhimer; daughter, Sharon and husband Tony Snider; grandchildren, Sean Readhimer, Matt Readhimer, Chad Readhimer, Daniel Lenard; step-children, Rodney Readhimer and Lisa Garrett; several step-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Caskey, and Carrie Humphrey.
The family extends special appreciation to the staffs of Fresenius Dialysis, NWLA Nephrology, Dr. Mark Alan Brown, Colonial Oaks Rehab, Cornerstone Hospital, and special friend, Kierra Hill.
