Mary Virginia Reed

Services for Mrs. Mary Virginia Matthews Reed, 72, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015, at First Baptist Church of Princeton. Rev. Darrell Cooper will officiate. Visitation will be prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. until service begins. Mary was born October 4, 1942 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 4, 2015, after a brief illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church Princeton. Mary had a love for all children; from her grandchildren to the children's lives she touched through the church. She was an avid lover of gardening and music. She will be forever missed by her family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mary Matthews; and her brothers, Paul and Johnny Matthews. She is survived by her husband, Voundale Reed; daughters, Tena Reed Horne and husband, Mark and Tandi L. Reed; son, Johnny "Vee" Reed, Jr. and wife, Laura; brothers, Kenneth "Scrappy" Matthews and wife, Patty, and C.R. Matthews; sister, Nita Staton and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Mark Horne, Jr., Dixie Jan Modica, Benjamin and wife, Alaina Reed, Charles Reed, and great-grandchildren, Jaci and Dixon Hagler, Landon Reed, Arabella Gilmore and numerous nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

The family extends a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice and the nurses who took care of her.
