Coushatta, LA - A funeral service celebrating the life of Mary Jane Russell, "Janie," age 76, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Homes in Coushatta with Bro. James Nailes of First Assembly of God officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Goldonna, LA. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday, November 17, at the funeral home. Janie was born on March 1, 1942 in Jonesboro, LA to Herman Trussell, Sr. and Emma Mae McNaughton. She made Coushatta her home around 1970, raising her family here with husband Marvin, which she was very proud of. She enjoyed serving the public in her over 30 year retail career in Coushatta. Janie accepted God's invitation to live in heaven with him, on the 14^th of November, in that extraordinary place of astounding wonder, where pain & sorrow will be no more. She is now with loved ones that went before her. Janie was preceded in death by her parents Herman Trussell, Sr. and Emma Mae McNaughton & her stepfather Edward Dickson, her husband Marvin D. Russell, son Bobby D. Odom and great grandson Jeremiah Cash Odom, her brother Fredrick Dickson, and her sisters Beverly Albritton, Gloria Ann Plunkett, and Winnie F. Trussell. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jessie Ray Odom and wife Jeanette, Greggory Glen Odom and wife Theresa, James David Russell and wife Tana; daughters Tracy Lee Russell, Mary Melissa Russell-Holt, Joy Faye Russell, Shirley Diane Odom; brothers Herman Ray Trussell, Howard L. Dickson and wife Diane; grandchildren Casey Odom and husband John, Katrina Ann Holt, Bradley Odom and wife Cheryl, Lacy Dalme and husband Randy, Kenneth W. Holt II, Jordan Russell and wife Erin, Jacob Russell, Dylan Russell, Amanda Howard, Cory Maxwell, Jr. and wife SueZanna, Justin Smith, and Jon Michael Russell; and 16 great-grandchildren. Honoring Janie as pallbearers will be her great-grandson Dakota Dalme, her nephews Timothy and Eddie Lindsey, and friends Whites and Matt McCoy.
