Mary Smith

Mary Smith, 82, of Logansport, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on October 23, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield, Louisiana on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services honoring her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with son-in-law, Michael Peek officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, Louisiana. Mary was born on August 25, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan to Raymond and Maxine Schott. Mary and her husband Louis married on March 29, 1959 only three months after they met in San Diego, California where she lived, and where her husband was stationed in the Navy. The couple later moved to Logansport, Louisiana where they resided their remaining years. Preceding Mary in death are her parents, Raymond and Maxine Schott; brother, Donald Schott; husband of 41 years, Louis Smith; daughter, Mary Margarette Smith. She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Casteel and Sharon Batkoski and husband Joe; brother, Garry Schott and wife Carroll; daughters, Mona Smith, Rayleen Weeks and husband Ricky, Kayla Smith and wife Lori Webb, and Darlene Peek and husband Mike; grandchildren, Hannah, Jonathan, Sarah, Lacee, Dustin, Brianne, Kristin, Brittany, Daniel, and Bethany; great-grandchildren, Seth, Chandler, Paisley, Kennedi, Cash, Fallyn, Karsyn, Braelyn, Colson, Ruger, and Kimber. Honoring Mary as pallbearers will be Ricky Weeks, Jonathan Lux, Rhace Towns, Dustin Weeks, Daniel Peek, and Noah Hildebrand.
