SHREVEPORT, LA. Funeral services for Mabel, age 102, will be held at 10:00 a.m., March 24 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Visitation at 9:30 precedes the service. Interment follows at 12:45 p.m. in the New Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Castor, LA. Conducting the service will be the family and Mr. Billy Vandiver.Mabel passed away at the Someren Glen Long Term Care facility in Centennial, CO, on March 12, 2015. There she had exceptional loving and tender care. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and long-time resident of Shreveport with her husband of 72 years, William Thomas Smith, deceased in 2001. In 2003 she moved to Parker, Colorado, to be with her son Thomas and his family. Mabel was preceded in death by her mother, Rosell McGee Pardue, her father, Pierce Pardue, sisters Viola Stanton, Roberta Cotton, Emma Loftin, and brother Theodore Pardue. She is survived by her son Thomas Wayne Smith, and his wife, Lelia Krieg Smith. She is also survived by three grandchildren and their spouses: Sheryl Smith Morrison (Carter); Amy Smith Champion (John); and Nolan Thomas Smith (Ellie). Other survivors include 7 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parker Bible Church, 4391 E. Mainstreet, Parker, CO 80134 and Christian Living Communities, Senior Assistance Fund, 7000 E. Belleview Ave., Suite 150, Greenwood Village, CO 80111-1660.
