Mary Ann Pitts Stroope

Funeral Services honoring the life of Mary Ann Pitts Stroope will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Pastor Darrell Evans. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the service in Rose-Neath Cemetery, 5185 Swan Lake Spur, Bossier City, Louisiana.

Mary Ann Pitts Stroope was born December 15, 1933 in Eldorado, Arkansas to Samuel Edgar Pitts and Nettie Westmorland Pitts and passed away, Thursday, November 17, 2022 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Mary Ann Pitts Stroope, also known as Skeeter by friends and loved ones and Nana by her grandchildren, loved playing and listening to Gospel music. She enjoyed conversing with family and friends and sharing  stories of yesteryear with her grandchildren while sipping on her coffee. She made friends wherever she went and was loved by all.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Horace H. Stroope; son, Ronald G. Stroope; sisters, Winifred Pitts White, Juanola Pitts Neal, Bernice Pitts Hendricks, and Jean Pitts Couch; and brother, Samuel Edgar Pitts, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Sam Stroope and wife, Glaucia; daughter-in-law, Anna Jean Stroope; brother, Kennard Pitts and wife, Emma; grandchildren, Shawn Stroope and wife, Sarah; Ryan Stroope; Stacy Stroope Davis and husband, Trey, and Chris Stroope and fiancé, Tiffany Vincent; great-grandchildren, Lane Stroope, Colton Stroope, Shaye Davis, Sophie Davis, Tyler Davis, Peyton Stroope, Caitlyn Free and husband, Micah, and Parker Stroope; great-great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Reed, Blakely Free Kai Stroope, and Beaux Free; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Mary as pallbearers will be Chris Stroope, Ryan Stroope, Trey Davis, Parker Stroope, Peyton Stroope, and Micah Free.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Stroope and Tommy Pitts.
