Mattie was born on September 17, 1941 to S.L. and Irene Frizzell in Magnolia, Arkansas and passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 in Shreveport.
Mattie was a resident of Shreveport and a homemaker. She was a long-time member of Summer Grove Baptist Church. She was a sweet, caring, courageous lady that fought hard after she became ill, never complaining a day. You would ask her how she felt, and no matter how bad the pain, she always said "fine." She adored her two granddaughters. They were the light of her life! She was also known as the best chocolate chip cookie baker in the entire world!
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Vera Lagrone and Peggy Pate. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, R. Clayton Boyter; daughters, Rhonda Boyter of Rogers, Arkansas and Denise Reynolds of Fayetteville, Arkansas; granddaughters, Katelyn Reynolds and Sarah Reynolds; sisters, Betsy Scarborough of Bossier City, LA and Ann McCrary of Fayetteville, Arkansas; brothers, Charlie Frizzell and James Frizzell of Shreveport, LA, Robert Frizzell of Bella Vista, Arkansas, and Kenny Frizzell of Keithville, LA.
Honoring Mattie as pallbearers will be Paul Reynolds, Palmer Hays, Michael Dowling and Steve Hartsfield.
The family would like to express special thanks to Regional Hospice and Springlake Nursing Home for the excellent care and compassion shown to Mattie during her illness.
