Mattie Frances Meek

SHREVEPORT, LA - Mattie Frances Meek passed away November 18, 2014 at the age of 73. Mattie was an incredibly talented and creative woman born on October 14, 1941 to her parents Gordon and Bernice Addison. Mattie had a true passion for song writing and poetry. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and was a gifted massage therapist. Mattie will be truly missed by her family, friends, clients and all who knew and loved her. Mattie is survived by her daughter Brenda McAteer; daughter and son- in-law, Susan and Frank Prest, Jr.; son and daughter- in-law Matthew Cameron and Dana Meek; and grandchildren, Tanna McAteer, Tommi McAteer, Jessica Prest, Frank Prest III, and Kyle Prest. Mattie's wish was to celebrate her life rather than to mourn her death. According to her request, she will be cremated and a tree will be planted in her memory. The family invites all loved ones to join in the planting of the tree on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the home of Frank and Susan Prest at 470 Sandefur Drive, Shreveport, LA 71105, with a reception to follow.
