Maude Earline Stovall
Funeral services for Mrs. Maude Earline Stovall, 96, of Athens, Louisiana will be held Sunday, August 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church of Old Athens, where she was a long time member. Bro. Eddie Ballance will be officiating. Graveside services will follow at Salem Cemetery in Athens under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Maude was born April 25, 1918 in Claiborne Parish. She was a homemaker all of her life, raising 8 children and being a living example of God's Love to all who knew her. She went home to be with the Lord on August 23, 2014 while resting peacefully at home.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Erie and Mattie Lou Gandy; her husband, DV (Son) Stovall; 3 brothers, J.B., W.T. (Top) and Roy Gandy; her sister, Beth (Coot) Ross Anderson; 1 son Dan Stovall; daughter-in-law; Juanita Stovall; 3 grandchildren, Randy Stovall, Jason Stovall and Karen Jones; and 1 great grandchild, Jonathan (J.J.) Stovall.
She is survived by 7 children, Don Stovall of Haughton; Jerry Stovall of Sibley; Sue Langheld, Royce Stovall and wife Sheree, Marion Stovall and wife Peggy all of Athens; Margie Stovall and Sheila Phillips and husband Paul both of Minden; daughter-in-law, Elaine Stovall of West Monroe; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 10, soon to be 12, great great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, friends and church family.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to New Hope Baptist Church or Salem Cemetery.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Gamble Hospice Care, who made a difficult situation bearable and were only a phone call away.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
