Mavis was born on December 30, 1931 to Rufus Benjamin Caswell and Fannie Mae Blalock Caswell in Emerson, Arkansas and passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Momma, Memaw, Mamaw, Aunt Mavis loved Jesus and her family more than anything. She was a cafeteria worker for Caddo Parish Schools and then got to fulfill her desire to be a nurse by becoming a caregiver. She was a Sunday School teacher to a group of ladies at Morningside Baptist/ Kingston Road Baptist for over 20 years. She had just recently became a member of Salem Baptist Church in Stonewall and was enjoying getting to know new brothers and sisters in Christ. Her heart was all about missions and being the hands and face of Jesus. Her family and love for Christ was her pride and joy. To know her was to love her. If you ever wanted to see a Proverbs 31 woman she was it. The world seems a little darker today with her light gone.
Mavis is preceded in death by her husband, James C. Todd of Keithville, Louisiana; parents, Rufus B. Caswell and Fannie Blalock Caswell; son, Ronald G.
