Funeral services for Max Lavell Schwartz, 82, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Officiating the Minister Bill Still.

Max was born on August 29th, 1942 in Pocatello, Idaho to Fredrick Ernest Schwartz and Letha Ames Schwartz. He was the fourth of six children with three older sisters and two younger brothers.

Max was preceded into heaven by both parents and three older sisters, Sara Colleen Brower, Shirley Kay Packard, and Darlene Richards. He is survived by both younger brothers, O’Neil Schwartz and Denny Joe Schwartz.

Also surviving is his wife, Carol Ann Schwartz and his children, Kathy Grace and husband Perry, Trenton Schwartz, Kyle Schwartz, Kris Andrews and husband, Dee Johnson, and Eric Schwartz. The extended surviving family consists of six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Max grew up in Idaho living in several towns due to his father’s various jobs and opportunities. He graduated high school after attending Pocatello High School going by Lavell to all of his classmates.

It wasn’t too long after graduating high school that he joined the U.S. Air Force on September 20th, 1960 and completed Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. He began his career as an Aircraft Mechanic later cross training to be a Flight Engineer on the Lockheed C-141 Starlifter. He served in Vietnam and flew missions all over the world and eventually ended his career at Altus Air Force Base retiring December 12th, 1981 after 21 years of service.

After retiring from the Air Force, Max eventually would work as an Engineering Tech Writer supporting Lockheed Martin with the F-16 Falcon and retired after 20 years in 2002.

Max and Carol moved to Weatherford OK and eventually to Keithville, LA to be closer to family until his passing on Friday April 11, 2025.
