Maxie "Mac" Doggett

Maxie “Mac” Doggett, 86, of Greenwood, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on December 22, 2023. He was born on November 23, 1937, in Center, Texas to Roy Lee and Gladys Doggett.

A memorial service honoring the life of Maxie will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, located at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Bro. Marvin LeLeux.

Maxie graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1957. He married Sammie Stotts on April 8, 1960, and they moved to Shreveport in 1968. Maxie worked at Exide Technologies until his retirement in 2001. He will always be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who worked hard to provide for his family. The best part of his day was spent with his grandchildren and his pets. He enjoyed flea markets and was known for his collection of vinyl records, giving him the local nickname “Record Man”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Gladys Doggett; wife, Sammie Doggett; daughter, Mary Ann Doggett; brother, Martin Eugene “Trever” Doggett; and sisters, Billie Barr and Barbara Dickinson. Left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Tina Conly and husband David, and Veronica Lea Doggett; grandchildren, Grayson Conly and Erin Conly; and sisters, Brenda McDaniel and Patricia McDonald.
