BOSSIER CITY, LA- A Memorial service for Mertie Ebarb Rosado, 85, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 4700 Palmetto Road, Benton, LA. Father Thomas Pike will be officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Mertie was born July 30, 1929 in Noble, LA to Fred Ebarb and Mary Meshell Ebarb and passed away on January 27, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Hazel Austtun and husband, Carl; brothers, Arvil "Duce" Ebarb and Reece F. Ebarb; grandson, Slade Champion and wife, Kathy; son-in-law, Jerry Champion. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 33 years, James Victor Rosado, Sr.; son, Ronnie P. Wynne; daughter, Linda Champion; brother, Thomas Ebarb and wife, Rosie; grandchildren, Patrick, David and Brandon Wynne; great-grandchildren, Haylee Sowell and husband, Brent, Victoria Champion and Landon Wynne; special niece, Marsha Oliver and family; also numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Mertie worked as a waitress for years and was loved by all of her customers. She loved being a nurse more than anything. She had such a deep passion for caring for people which made her love nursing even more. Mertie was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She also cared for and loved all her cats and dogs. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers will be Pat and William Lawhon.
The family would like to express their sincerest thanks and gratitude to Dr. Allen Cox and staff, and to the staff at Promise Hospital in Bossier, LA.
