MSGT. Michael Logan Chappell (USAF, Retired)
SHREVEPORT, LA - Funeral services for MSGT. Michael Logan Chappell, 55, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Summer Grove Baptist Church, Pastor Aaron Burgner officiating. Interment will follow at Chelette Family Cemetery in Colfax, LA with Rev. Mark Sparks officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Rose-Neath Southside Funeral Home.
Michael was born in Jackson, Tennessee on August 31, 1962. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant. He loved to sing about Jesus and spend time with his granddaughter. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and his country.
Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 32 years Wanda Chelette Chappell; daughter, Ashley Lauren Alvarenga and husband José; granddaughter, Adalind Grace Alvarenga; father, William David Chappell and wife Nancy; mother, Melva Lynette Dozier and husband Dennis; brother, Edward Chappell; sister, Leigh Anne Bishop and husband Billy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be Curtis Carrigan, Robert Carter, Derek Dickson, Travis Furlow, Victor Goff, James "Dano" Gilcrease, Darren Hodge and Robert Zeller. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Chelette, Mike Chelette, Byron Chelette, Donald Chelette, Derk Chelette, Joshua Chappell and Gene Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Summer Grove Baptist Church.
