Funeral services for Michael Fielding Fisher, 71, will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Keatchie Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Reverend Dean Register.
Michael was born on January 24, 1950 to John Ernest Fisher and Oleta Novelle Andrews in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 in Shreveport.
Michael was an electrician in the plywood and oilfield industry. He loved the LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints and hoped to get well so he could go back to enjoying his favorite sport, fishing. It didn't happen but he is now with his Lord and Savior fishing. He loved to read and had a particular interest in the Civil War, all history, sports and politics. He was a very loving husband, father, pa, uncle and friend. He will be sorely missed.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Andy Fisher. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 26 years, Daphne Fisher; daughters, Shonda Janssen and husband, Tracey and Melissa Sims; son, David Long and wife, Carol; sisters-in-law, Jackie Fisher; brother, John "Jef" Fisher, Jr. and wife, Anna; grandchildren, Austin Sims, Treven Sims, Hayden Janssen, and Nick Janssen.
Honoring Michael as pallbearers will be Wiley Boothe, Charles Blalock, Donnie Fisher, Vernon Walker, Tommy Luttrell and Tracey Janssen. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Speights.
