Michael Lee Marceaux

Michael Lee Marceaux was born January 24, 1971 in Kaplan, Louisiana to Olita Marie Schexnider and Richard Lee Marceaux and passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Michael was an E7 Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force when he retired in 2013 as a fuels operation supervisor for the POL division. He received his Bachelor of Nursing from Northwestern State University in May of 2018. A truly selfless man, who always put others before himself, he most recently worked as a nurse at Christus Highland Medical Center. Michael always loved to keep himself busy working on different projects but was able to find the time to relax and enjoy the little things in life. He loved jeeps, watching old time westerns and military movies and he loved to cook, especially Cajun food. He always enjoyed going to the movies with his family any chance he got. He loved his precious dogs, Brandy, Sam and Lizzy but above all, he loved his family for they truly meant the world to him. He was loved by all who met him and truly made everyone a better person for knowing him. Michael will always be remembered for being the definition of a hero. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Marceaux. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Dunia Marceaux; sons, Drake Marceaux, Colton Marceaux, Hunter Marceaux and Kevin Rivera; his mother and step-father, Oliva Schexnider and Ray Aucoin; sister, Denise Miller and brothers, Glenn Marceaux and Richard Marceaux. Honoring Michael as pallbearers will be Drake Marceaux, Hunter Marceaux, Wesley Caston and Kelly Brian. Serving Michael as honorary pallbearers will be Colton Marceaux, Kevin Rivera, Glenn Marceaux and Richard Marceaux. A private family mass will be held at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church followed by interment in the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana. Father Jim Moran will officiate.
