Michael "Mike" Roy Blakeley

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Michael “Mike” Roy Blakeley, 71, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2023, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Drive, Bossier City, Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow the service at 2:00 p.m. at Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road, Keithville, Louisiana, where Mike will receive full military honors. Officiating the service will be Minister Andrew Brewster.     

Mike was born July 8, 1951, in Arkansas and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and suddenly passed away on March 6th, 2023.  

Mike was a 24-year military veteran retiring from Barksdale Air Force Base. After that, he worked for the United States Postal Service for 17 years as a mail carrier in Shreveport. He loved fishing, listening to music, and spending time with his family. He was passionate about motorcycles, as he rode for most of his life. Mike would go out of his way to help anybody he could, often assisting others with home repairs, auto repairs, or just giving advice.  

Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Winnie Lafitte, and his brother, Dennis Blakeley. He is survived by his wife, Robin Blakeley; his two sons, Sean Blakeley and wife, Rebecca, and Marc Blakeley; his two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Blakeley and Brooke Blakeley; and his brother, Terry Blakeley.
