Michael (Mike) Joseph McDowell, 33, of Shreveport, LA went to be with the Lord on December 15, 2017. Memorial Service will be at Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Southside Chapel, 2500 Southside Drive, on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 3PM. Visitation will be at 2PM.
Michael was born in Pineville, La. on March 4, 1984 to Dorothy (McDowell) Figlio and gained his wonderful Stepfather in December 1985.
Michael was a Caddo Magnet Alum, attended ULM Monroe on a Music Scholarship as 1st Chair Violinist. He performed at family and friends' weddings after leaving ULM to continue his passion for playing. Michael also played the Guitar and Piano. He worked at the family businesses while attending Bossier Parish Community College to pursue his degree in Cyber Technology. Michael was a member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church of Shreveport, LA. He enjoyed playing Video Games with his buddies and would tinker with anything electronic. He loved the Chicago Cubs. Michael was a wonderful Son and Brother and was always surrounded by friends.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Lou Snodgrass and grandfather, Edward W. McDowell. Left to cherish his precious memories are his parents; grandparents, Pamela and David Priest; Karl and Stina Figlio; brother, Dustin McDowell; sister, Amanda Figlio and her boyfriend, Rich McGowen; and numerous other family members. Michael was a very special young man loved by many. He is now with his Lord. He will be missed.
We would like to thank the State Police and the DeSoto Parish Coroner office for the compassion they showed during a difficult time.
