A Celebration of Life for Michael Thomas Ploesch, 70, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 4300 North Market St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. with a Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Officiating the service will be Father Jim Moran.
Mike was born on September 16, 1954 in Washington to John and Bonnie Ploesch and passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Mike attended Jesuit High School and graduated from Northwood High School in 1975. He was a loving son and brother and was a life-long member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Even though Mike was hearing impaired and physically handicapped, you would only ever see his sunny disposition. He had a kind heart and a radiant and infectious smile no matter the situation. He was happiest when watching football, especially his LSU Tigers or the New Orleans Saints. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, softball, going to the horse races and watching both college and professional football. He was always ready to go, especially to eat dinner with his friends and family. His latest adventure was to get a golf cart, which he proudly drove around his neighborhood with the “pedal to the metal”! Mike embraced his new family, the “Terracina’s” when his mother remarried after his father’s death.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Ploesch and step-father, Peter A. Terracina. Left to cherish his memory are step-siblings, Joseph G. Terracina and wife, Leslie, Mary Terracina Bissell and husband, Rodney and Michael P. Terracina and wife, Kathleen; seven nieces and nephews and their spouses and seven great-nephews and three great-nieces.
The family would like to express special thanks to his care giver, Dianne Davis, who lovingly cared for Mike during this past year. She brought much joy, freedom and happiness to him in their daily adventures whether dining out, visiting friends or racing around his neighborhood.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Bissell, Mike McGowan, Johnny Addison and Mark Cascio.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Bossier City Council on Aging, 706 Bearkat Drive, Bossier City, LA 71111.
