Michael Edward Sand

A memorial service honoring the life of Michael Edward Sand will be held at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Rose-Neath Marshall St. Chapel, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held at 4:30 p.m. until service time. Officiating the service will be Pastor Glenn Ware of Life United Shreveport. Michael was born June 29, 1956 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Eddie and Mary Louise Sands and passed away Monday, August 31, 2020. Michael was a supervisor at Squire's Warehouse for many years. He was a member of Life United Shreveport for the last few years. He was someone who would always help someone in need. His love for his fiancé, Laurie and his family were immeasurable. He loved all animals especially his cat, Homie. Michael was the biggest fan of Alabama football and NASCAR. He enjoyed fishing and never forgot a Taco Tuesday. Michael will always be remembered for his kindness and huge heart. Michael was preceded in death by his father and brothers, Randy Sands and Tommy Sands. Left to cherish his memory are his fiancé, Laurie Hamilton; mother; son, Billy Sands; daughters, Jennifer Sands and Teresa Lloyd; brothers, Wayne Sands and Tim Sands and grandchildren, Oliver Sands, Kayli Sands and Lina Sands. The family suggests any donations may be made to the Shreveport Bossier Animal Rescue, 431 Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA 71104 or to a local animal shelter of the donor's choice.
