Michael A. Sullivan SHREVEPORT, LA - A special Angel entered into eternal peace. Michael Arthur Sullivan, 85, was called to Heaven on March 13, 2016. His memory will always live in our hearts. We will miss him but rejoice that he is with Christ. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Rose-Neath Marshall St. from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the Cathedral of St. John Berchmans, with Msgr. Carson LaCaze officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery on St. Vincent Ave. Michael A. Sullivan was born on January 20, 1931. He was employed with the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office in many capacities for forty years, retiring with the rank of Captain. He was past exalted Ruler and lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #122. Also a life member of the Louisiana Peace Officers Association, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Coordinator of the Holiday in Dixie Parade for twenty years. Michael\'s commanding presence, unique story telling abilities, colored with a wee bit of Irish blarney, and delivered with silver tongued flair will live in our memories long after we bid him farewell. Michael was preceded in death by his wife Janice Youngblood Sullivan. He is survived by his longtime friend and dearest companion, his fiancée, Peggy McGrath and her son Dennis McGrath; brother, Robert Sullivan and wife Arlene; nephew, Paul Roussel; niece, Linda Roussel; sister-in-law, Yvonne Youngblood; brother-in-law, Leaman Youngblood. He is also survived by his extended family friends, Pat and Tom Long, Steve and Janet Madden, and many dear friends. Honoring Michael as pallbearers will be Mike Bradley, Don Hathaway, Charlie Kern, Freddie King, Paul Roussel and Jerry Waugh. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the active and retired members of the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office. Special thanks to our special angels, Dr. Iqbal Singh and his team, and to Dr. Robert Hernandez for his ongoing care. The family suggests memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3100 Samford Ave. Shreveport, LA 71103, Cathedral of St. John Berchmans, 947 Jordan St., Shreveport, LA 71101, or to the charity of donor's choice.
