A memorial service for Mignon Willis, 70, will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Officiating the service will be Pastor McCain.

Mignon was born on July 10, 1954, to D.C. and Minny Grant in Shreveport, Louisiana, and passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

 Mignon dedicated her life to nurturing others, beginning her journey as a caregiver, where she worked long hours throughout the week, showcasing her enduring spirit and unmatched compassion. Her warmth and generosity were well known to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. With a heart of gold, Mignon spent countless hours helping her mother and other family members through their health challenges, exemplifying what it meant to be a pillar of support. She was renowned for hosting family cookouts, where she fed not only her family but also the entire neighborhood.

Mignon’s love for cooking was not just a career; it was her calling. She poured her heart into every dish she prepared, believing that food had the power to create connections and evoke fond memories. From family gatherings to community events, her kitchen was always bustling with the aromas of tantalizing dishes. There was nothing more fulfilling for her than to see those she loved enjoy the meals she crafted with care and joy.

Mignon was preceded in death by her mother, Minny Grant; her father, D.C. Grant and her brothers, Buddy Jr. Grant, and Harold Grant. She is survived by Jenny Lacey, Fred Grant, Wayne Grant, Dewitt Grant, Patricia Ann Grant, Cherry Henry, Diane Grant, Judy Grant, Felonta Willis, Wesley Willis, Eric Wesley, Heru (Aaron) Willis; grandchildren, Jaylen Willis, Javon Willis, Tiger Willis, Markaila Willis, Dekysha Porter, Dajah Porter, McKinna Willis, Erica Mason, Shantra Henderson, Esaiah Willis, Tyler Mitchell, Kevonta Washington, Trevon Willis, Juwan Willis, and Jordan Willis.
