Funeral services honoring the life of Miles Alexander FitzGerald will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1719 Creswell Ave, Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall Street, with a Trisagion at 6:00 p.m. Officiating the services will be Father Ioannis Krokos and Father Jason Foster. Interment will immediately follow the service in Greenwood Cemetery, 130 E. Stoner Avenue.
Miles Alexander FitzGerald was born January 5, 1986 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away, Saturday, July 24, 2021.
Miles' life made an impact on so many; to know him was to love him. We will continue to honor the work that has been done in his name. His warrior spirit will live on and help others through The Miles Alexander FitzGerald Foundation.
Miles is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nicholas Louis Mandrapilias and Aspasia "Cassie" Mandrapilias, and his paternal grandparents Richard Farge FitzGerald and Jean FitzGerald.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Laura Mandrapilias FitzGerald; father, Timothy Collins FitzGerald, both of Shreveport, LA; sister, Mary Collins FitzGerald Krantz and husband, Benjamin of New York, NY; brother, Nicholas Conner FitzGerald of Shreveport, LA; uncles, Louis Nicholas Mandrapilias of Los Angeles, CA, Mike FitzGerald and wife, Sharon of Shreveport, LA; aunts, Sophia Winter and husband, John of Loveland, CO, Susie Sample and husband, Art, Mary Jean Lewis and husband, Brian, Barbra Briggs and husband David, and Kenni FitzGerald all of Shreveport, LA; niece, Breiss Alexandra Krantz; nephew, Julian FitzGerald Krantz, both of New York, NY; great-aunt, Mary Mandrapilias of Athens, Greece; Godmother, Lisa Skamangas of Shreveport, LA; and many cousins.
Honoring Miles as pallbearers will be Conner FitzGerald, Donny Jackson, Benjamin Krantz, Cameron Lennard, Tim Sample, Scott Sample, Matthew Solice, and Trey Tomasek.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Geoffrey Winter, Philip Bancroft, and the boxers of Shreveport Youth Boxing Club.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr. Milton Scharff of Scottsdale, AZ, Dr. Richard Silver of Dallas, TX, and Dr. Rick Michael of Shreveport, LA for their care and compassion. They would also like to thank his caregivers, Edna Faye Lewis, Katie Forch, Deloris Washington, Linda Thomas Aldrich, Deann McCoy, Lesbia Jiminez, and the many other special caretakers during Miles' life.
