A homecoming celebration for Milton Barrington was held on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Homer with Rev. Brian Thurman and Aaron Coffey officiated. Visitation took place from 10-11, an hour prior to the service.
Mr. Barrington is headed home to the “his home shall be eternal,” as his favorite song Beulah Land describes it. A busy and funny little man, he embraced his short stature and would tell folks that he was the last one to know it was raining and the first to drown. He was a faithful servant to the Lord, friend to all who knew him, and a ready source of peppermints to any child in his circle.
Left to cherish the memory of him as a man of love, joy, and peace are his wife of 72 years, Norma H. Barrington, son Michael (Mary) Barrington; daughter Kristy (Rick) Alexander; grandchildren Patrick R. Barrington, Laura (Jude) Olivier, Jacob Browning, and Ben Alexander; great grandchildren Landri, Avery, and Jude Olivier, as well as his sister, Marcille Tucker.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ottis Barrington and Louella Swift and his brother Charles Barrington.
Pallbearers were Patrick Barrington, Jude Olivier, Rick Alexander, Ben Alexander, Dwayne Thompson, and William Owens.
Honorary pallbearers were the senior adult's men's Sunday School Class members of First Baptist Church of Homer.
Special thanks to Dr Sam Abshire, Phyllis Grafton and staff at Presbyterian Village.
Mr. Barrington donated every month to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital but would encourage you to donate to a cause dear to your heart.
